Week 1 Predictions

Saturday

Arsenal 2-1 Sunderland

A win at the first attempt for the Gunners seem likely as the attempt to cope with the loss of Robin van Persie, although new boy Louis Saha will hope to grab a goal or 2.

Fulham 2-0 Norwich

Despite the long Clint Dempsey saga, he remains a Fulham player and should help them to a win over the Canaries.

QPR 1-1 Swansea

A 1-1 draw would probably satisfy both managers on this occasion as you always like to get on the board straight away. A 0-0 is also likely.

Reading 1-0 Stoke

I don't know much about the Premier League new boys, but they won the Championship and with the addition of ex-Fulham striker Pavel Pogrebnyak they should be able to get past Stoke.

West Brom 2-3 Liverpool

A close encounter, but one that should see Liverpool come out on top.

West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

The 2 purple-kitted sides meet at Upton Park for the first time since 2010, but don't expect many goals. A nil-niler is in order here.

Newcastle 3-3 Tottenham

4th vs 5th! This should be the closest of this weeks matches, and we should have a goal-fest, both sides heaving with attacking talent such as Pappiss Cisse, Demba Ba, Gylfi Siggurdson and Hatem Ben Arfa.

Sunday

Wigan 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea should ease past the Latics, as their new signings Hazard, Marin and Oscar hope to hit the ground running. Don't expect a shock here.

Man City 4-1 Southampton

This should be easy for the PL champions, with many expecting Southampton to go straight back down. However, if Rickie Lambert can continue his goal-scoring form, they might have a chance of survival.

Monday

Everton 2-2 Man Utd

The first "shock" result. I don't think Utd will be able to take the points from Goodison Park- Everton have always been a tough team to beat. Expect Everton to take at least a point.

Wednesday

Chelsea 1-0 Reading

Another win should see the Blues take 6 pts out of 6. Two fairly easy fixtures should see Chelsea off to a good start.
